I'm just curious if anyone in this tribe went to Rakkasah? I haven't seen any mention of it here. (But then, there *is* a Rakkasah tribe...)
Anyway,...if you *did* go, what did you think? Did you perform? Did you buy anything? How long did you stay? Which day did you go? Did you go to any workshops?

Re: Rakkasah. Anyone here go to it?
Mon, March 21, 2005 - 2:05 PMI went. I bought a hip scarf for class practice (I made the one I had before, and I got a re-made replacement so I can take apart my cutom one and use the coins for something new), a set of zils, and a nice fabric backed tribal choker from fat chance.
I stayed most of Saturday, I didn't perform, didn't go to any workshops.
My faves were Jim Boz, Unmata (unmata.com), Mychelle (mychelledancer.com), and some of the ladies from NeferTem (a FCBD student troupe). -

Mon, March 21, 2005 - 5:28 PMJim is cool. (Both to watch, and as a person. :P ) I love to watch FatChance and Hahbi 'Ru. Oh, and Momo Kaddous and Leila Haddad.
I was announcing dancers on main stage from 4-6 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. on Sat. (I announced on Fri. and Sun. also.)
Since I am pretty dirt poor this year, I only bought 2 pairs of earrings for a total of $10. That's all I bought for the entire weekend. *sigh* I wish I were rich. So many wonderful things to buy there.
